If you are a fan of Broadway, then there’s a show coming to town you are not going to want to miss for your next Date Night!

“Restored to its rock roots, the star-studded second coming of Jesus Christ Superstar is big, brash and bold…” -Liverpool Daily Post (Liverpool, England)

On June 22, 2014 Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s groundbreaking 1971 rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar will come to Dallas for 1 night only.

For decades, this incredible show has wowed audience with it’s powerful music, but has recently been “reimagined” for the 21st century as an arena spectacular with large-scale staging and video effects and lighting!

The show features an extraordinary cast of rock, pop and R&B superstars, including:  Incubus’ Brandon Boyd as Judas Iscariot, Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child as Mary Magdalene, *NSYNC’s JC Chasez as Pontius Pilate, John Rotten Lydon from Public Image Limited (PIL) and Sex Pistols as King Herod, and introducing Ben Forster as Jesus.

“The show gets the right balance between the spectacular, the jokey and the sincere. The performances from the well-choreographed supporting cast are fine throughout. Honestly, it’s enough to give rock opera a good name.”  –The Times (London, England)

If you’re unfamiliar with the plot of Jesus Christ Superstar, the rock opera is loosely based on the Gospels of the Bible and takes you through the final days of Jesus’s life up through his crucifixion. The story dives deeper into the personal and political struggles of Judas and Jesus’s relationship using modern music and lyrics.

In 1971, the Jesus Christ Superstar album was named Billboard’s biggest-selling album of the year – against competition from such masterpieces as Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin IV, Santana III and John Lennon’s Imagine – and made number one on the Billboard album chart twice in that year in February and in May.

In addition, the Jesus Christ Superstar Live Arena Tour was seen by over 315,000 people and generated over $32 million after the end of the 2013 UK/Australia Debut Tour.

It’s hard to deny that this incredible musical has earned it’s place among the greatest Broadway performances of all time!
