I will 100% not be making pumpkin spice jokes in this intro. But I will most certainly say something about the temperatures, because let’s be real, September is almost indistinguishable from high summer around here. September in Dallas means getting overly excited to bust out my fall fashions, then sweating to death in boots and knitwear because, of course, it’s 97 degrees outside and I am delusional. So! Leave that cute jean jacket in the closet for just a little longer and check out our Guide below for the best kid and family events this month. Or go ahead and wear the jean jacket. We can perspire together.

Like always, we maintain a full calendar of events here, and when you subscribe to our Newsletter, you’ll get this list sent straight to your inbox.

Real talk: September begins on a somber note for us here in Texas as we sort through the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. We know y’all are all over social media and have seen many ways to help those in need. Here’s a list of some vetted organizations other than the Red Cross and Salvation Army who are also on the ground providing aid:

If you’re looking for ways to help the areas to our South right here in DFW, check out our up-to-the-minute post on where you can donate, volunteer, and send monetary donations locally. Let’s all help however we can because it’s certainly going to be a long road back.

(While we’re here, every Wednesday at 11am they have a themed story time and activity for kids ages 2-5. Pass it on.)
