This post has been sponsored by Schwan’s Home Delivery to share their latest community effort. As a community blog, we’re happy to provide you with this information on a business to gives back to our city and its children!  (And we’re also excited to give you a special reader discount code below!)

July 1st hits tomorrow which means lots of parents are already thinking ahead to “Back to School.” Before we know it, it will be time to start thinking about organizing playgroups, enrolling into Fall sports, joining Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, and all those other great extra-curricular activities that get our kids (and us) involved!

Although my boys (ages 3 and 18 months) aren’t quite there, I’m still already thinking of ways I’ll want to support their interests and community groups. I’m excited to be a t-ball mom, I can’t wait to volunteer with our PTA, and I look forward to the day when I can be the “Cool Mom” of the Youth Group. It’s these organizations that will help build their character and establish lifelong friendships, so why wouldn’t I want to do my part?

A few months ago, I shared on Dallas Moms Blog a local business that provides moms with the convenience and ease of having fresh food and meals delivered straight to your door– Schwan’s Home Service.

As you start to think about the upcoming school year, and ways to get involved with your children’s programming, I’m happy to share with you another way that Schwan’s provides a service to their communities — Schwan’s Cares.

SchwansCaresWhat is Schwan’s Cares?

Schwan’s Cares : A Fundraising Network is a fundraising program that allows you to raise money for an organization or group you’re passionate it about! And they make fundraising so easy! All it takes is 3 easy steps.

When you start a fundraising campaign, there are NO upfront costs–you pay nothing to set up and run the campaign.

During the 30-45 period following the set up, spread the word about Schwan’s using their online invitation, and your group will earn 20% on EVERY purchase made through Schwan’s Online Ordering.

If you’d  like to do a little more, $25 eCertificates are available to sell, and 40% of each eCertificate will come back to your organization (1 per person, per campaign).

After the 30-45 day active period, Schwan’s Cares will then give 5% throughout the rest of the year, so that you can continue to reach your goal while you’re not actively fundraising.

Who can sign up?

If your program is looking for a different way to fundraise, Schwan’s Cares is able to help! They encourage the following types of organizations to sign up:

  • Sports Teams & Associations
  • Missions, Faith, and Church groups
  • Non-Profits & Charities
  • Education, Schools & Learning Institutions
  • Community & Neighborhoods
  • PTA Fundraising

So this year, instead of rolling out the wrapping paper, talk to your organization’s leader about a unique type of fundraiser that will benefit your group on a large level and make dinner easier on friends and families!

Krystal Hurst
Krystal is a Dallas-native who began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Richardson RISD, but quickly changed paths to became a stay-at-home mom in 2011. Through a happy coincidence, she stumbled upon (what was then known as) Dallas Moms Blog in 2012 and found a community she’d been looking for since coming a mom. Shortly after joining the team, she gratefully accepted the “baton” passed to her as new owner of the site, and took off with it running full speed! Krystal not only helped to grow Dallas Moms into a large parenting resource, but also launched Collin County Moms in 2016; providing those in the north Dallas suburbs their community resource platform. While building a community, uniting the moms, and growing a business around this passion was a dream come true, after almost 10 years, Krystal officially stepped down as owner, and is now focusing on raising her 4 boys with her husband, Tim, and rediscovering old hobbies.
