The “Go-To” Pool Party Guide {With A Little Help From Pinterest}

Let’s face it.  Those 100-degree temps will be here before we know it.  Everyone will be ready to hit the pool to cool off from the hot, summer blaze.  In my book, that calls for the ultimate pool party with the kiddos, family, and friends!

Check out our guide below for all your pool party needs to help everyone pull off a memorable party with minimal errands and easy prep.

The Decor

Floaties are not just for kids anymore.  Add a beach ball, or any of these colorful floats for a yummy dip in the pool.  The little ones won’t be left out of the glamour with their own swan or fish float to keep cool in the shade.  (Dads will flip over this Star Wars Millennium Falcon float!)

I love Shop Sweet Lulu for pretty paper goods.  It’s definitely my favorite shop for all my party needs.  These pineapple party plates and flamingo cups bring the party to your buffet.  You can’t have a party without stripey straws!  Add a colorful tassel garland and your table is ready to go!

The Menu

Chips and dip are an easy menu option.  Serve them up in sand castle buckets and use the shovel as a serving spoon!

These mini fruit pizzas are simple to put together.  If you have time, mix up a batch of these sugar cookies and top with cream cheese and fruit.

Sausage and pineapple party bites and turkey roll-ups are the perfect addition if you’re serving a hungry crowd!

Try sparking raspberry lemonade for a just the right refreshment!

The Treats

Dallas has plenty to offer in the way of frozen treats.  Plan to stop in, or rather, send someone else, a few hours before your party to grab a few of their delicious desserts to top off your party!

You don’t have to drive to lower Greenville anymore for the only Steel City Pops shop.  Now with stores all over North Dallas, Steel City Pops “sells gourmet pops made from all natural and local ingredients”.

Berrynaked in Inwood Village serves organic pops and purees, and was started by a new mom who “became passionate about nutrition and started to make [her] own purées as a way to broaden [her] children’s vegetable and fruit palette”.

Lake Highlands Creamery is a family owned, artisan ice cream shop in Dallas. They “take great pride in making all of our ice cream from scratch using real ingredients”.  Get there early and you can have the ice cream hand-packed in pints to take home to your party.

At Howdy Homemade, “you’ll come for the ice cream and stay for the people!”  Grab the house specialty Dr. Pepper Chocolate Chip ice cream!  Then hurry back to your party!  (And when you have a minute, learn even more about the inspiring mission of Howdy Homemade!)

The Frost Gelateria in Preston Hollow Village is a bright little shop that will pack up your gelato to go!  The recently opened gelateria is run by a sweet Italian family.  Grandma might even serve up your delicious gelato!

And then of course, if you have unending time available, you could always home make these decadent chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.  Because, you know, time.

Or, go super easy and refreshing with watermelon on a stick.  You’ll look especially innovative and everyone will appreciate the juicy fruit!

Wrap it up

And because you’re on top of it all, you’ve got an extra stash of beach towels to wrap up tired, pruney kiddos

Keep the dishes paper and plastic and clean up is simple if everyone pitches in!

Then it’s time to kick the kids out of the pool and enjoy a relaxing lap on your own giant swan!
