How To Have a Memorable Night Out at Lakewood Brewing Company

Dallas Moms Blog partnered with Lakewood Brewing Company for our Mommy Speed Dating event, and are excited to share with you how you can take advantage of this local brewery!

This past June, we got a little crazy and planned a one-of-a-kind event for local Metroplex moms — Mommy Speed Dating!  Not only was t it a little nerve-racking to see how this type of event would be received, but we were also taking a chance by partnering with our first local brewery.

IMG_4540-2Alright, now I know what you’re thinking! When did DMB become a match making serviceSo, before we go any further, let’s do a little explaining! Mommy Speed Dating was a chance for moms across Dallas to have a much needed night out away from the kids, but it had a purpose! Moms came from all over to meet their new “best friends.” This event was designed for moms new to the area, moms new to motherhood, or moms still just looking for their village. Through short introductions and a series of prewritten questions, moms were given the chance to meet new women in their area of town and learn as much as possible all within 2-3 minutes! If those moms felt they’d made a friendly connection, names were secretly written down and submitted to DMB. Our team matched every attendee with friendly matches and following the event names and numbers were exchanged by email!

The event was a huge success for Dallas Moms Blog, and a large part was in thanks to Lakewood Brewing Co. With their help, our event went off without a hitch and provided a fun, trendy background to a lot of nervous moms!

If you weren’t able to attend our Mommy Speed Dating event, we discovered that Lakewood Brewing quickly went to the top of our list for a “must do” with a group of girlfriends or just your spouse. No matter why or how you’re trying to escaping the house, here’s a few ways to take advantage of Lakewood Brewing to make your next time away a memorable one:

Take a Brewery Tour

Even if you’re not a huge fan of beer, a brewery tour can make a fun and entertaining day date! Tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations aren’t required and are FREE to the public.

During the 15-20 minute walk around the brewery, you’ll be shown the tap room, beer garden, and actual brewery where the beer is made. This is a great time to ask questions of craft artisans and learn about the process.

Don’t hit up your usual bar or restaurant like any normal night away. Lakewood Brewing’s Taproom is open Wednesday-Friday from 3pm-9pm and Saturday and Sunday beginning at 12pm.

Grab a seat at the bar to join in on the fun happening around you OR for a more private experience, pull up to a table and try a variety of seasonal beers on tap.

Try a Beer Dinner

Lakewood Brewing’s Taproom doesn’t offer food, but that doesn’t stop them from bringing us a culinary experience. “Beer Dinners” take place away from the Brewery at local restaurants and eateries around DFW. These pop up events pair delicious prefixed multi-course menus with Lakewood brews at an affordable price. Previous Beer Dinners have been held at Wise Guys Pizzeria in Grapevine, Victory Tavern in Dallas, and Cast Iron Omni in Fort Worth.

Make sure to follow Lakewood Brewing on Facebook to find out when their next Beer Dinner will take place!

Lakewood Brewing Can Throw a Party!

Lakewood’s Brewery and Beer Garden make it the perfect venue to throw incredible parties. If you’re looking for a great excuse to relax, let loose, and enjoy some company, keep an eye out for the next Lakewood Brewing party.

It’s not uncommon to find food trucks rolling in, live music indoors and outdoors, and limited release offerings on tap.

Bring Lakewood Home

We’re all parents, so we recognize that getting out of the house and away from the kids can be a little harder than it looks. If you’re not able to sneak away, have a home date night or Girls Night In with one of Lakewood’s newest releases — Lion’s Share IV.

Available to the public starting August 8th, 2016, Lion’s Share IV is a robust beer brewed with rich caramel and roasted malts, Belgian candi sugar, and LBC’s house Belgain yeast; which is then matured in freshly emptied brandy barrels.

This annual anniversary brew will be available for the first time in an individually boxed 22oz bottle at select craft retail locations.

Traditional favorites and seasonalLakewood beers are available throughout the DFW Metroplex, Austin and Central Texas, Corpus Christi, Abilene, Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Bryan/College Station and East Texas area in discerning bars, restaurants, and select retailers.

After experiencing the fun and energy of Lakewood Brewery, we knew this was a venue and business we just had to share! Keep up to date with all of Lakewood Brewing Company’s events and releases by visiting their website or following them on Facebook.
