A peek at the Omni Dallas Hotel’s Easter Cookies.

When I was growing up, Easter weekend often meant taking advantage of our Good Friday off from school to travel and spend time with extended family.  Now that I have my own family, our Easter traditions have evolved. While we are spending less hours in the car, we also aren’t really doing anything fun or exciting (unless you count an extra day to do chores at home as thrilling activity).

This is why I was genuinely excited to learn about Omni Dallas Hotel’s upcoming Easter weekend celebration and planned a little staycation for my small family!

The Omni Dallas Hotel will have a few special activities for kids to enjoy while staying at the hotel. On both Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27, the Omni Dallas Hotel will feature an egg decorating station for all the kids in the lobby (which means this self-admitted lazy mom won’t have to worry about trying to make pinworthy eggs at home). If your kiddos are too young to try this art project, simply head down to the lobby for some Easter Cookies & Milk.

Admittedly though the foodie in me is most excited about Easter brunch at Texas Spice, which is located on the Omni Dallas Hotel’s property.  Texas Spice puts emphasis on local, southern ingredients and I am excited about several of the items featured by this farm-to-market concept. From 10:30am-2pm, enjoy Garlic studded Leg of Lamb, Hill country red wine Braised shoulder, Omelets and Eggs prepared to order, Corn Flake French Toast,  and so much more. Plus, a special kids’ only buffet featuring Chicken Fingers, Buttered Noodles, and Mac & Cheese.

And an Easter dessert extravaganza, yes please!

The food may be the main attraction for the adults in my party but I know that my girls are going to truly enjoy the petting zoo (weather permitting) and getting their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny on Texas Spice’s patio immediately following brunch.

I’ve stayed at the Omni for a staycation before and can genuinely say this property is a Dallas gem! The service is top notch and they take the time to think of all the little details that make you feel like you are getting away from it all.  I’m very much looking forward to my little staycation and spending Easter at the Omni!
