Project Mom = Better Mom

1

We had the great privilege to attend Project Mom this weekend. It was truly a great time and I feel very inspired to be great at my Mom job. I was honestly not sure what to think when I first learned of the conference. I had been to conferences for work before. They are meant to inspire, motivate, and challenge you in your field. I guess that we are in the full time in the “mom business” it just makes sense that we could get together to hone our skills a little bit. I am a professional Mom, you are a professional Mom and our jobs are some of the most important in the world!!!

The conference kicked off Friday night with a cocktail time, cooking demonstration from the Crockin Girls, and a signing of their new cookbook. The conference speakers also mingled with everyone. We met the adorable Cassy Lawson, founder of Project Mom and got to really hear her heart behind Project Mom. She has such a passion for keeping Moms equipped and her spirit was contagious. The hilarious Lisa Lloyd was the event MC and kept us all in stitches. We also talked with Melissa Jennings of Stockpiling Moms. She shared great tips for savings with us first hand. She had me immediately inspired to start couponing. We also talked to the now famous Crockin Girls and snuck in a photo op!

We walked into the Courtyard Marriott in Allen on Saturday morning and were thrilled to see the rows of vendors with amazing products and even more amazing giveaways!  The shopper in me was SO excited! We sat down in a large room with over 500 other Moms. The keynote presentation was good and got us ready to learn how to be even better at our important jobs. The breakout session options were endless. They included couponing, teaching your children about money, party planning, organizing, photography, DIY projects, parenting tips, meal planning, The conference wrapped up with an interview with Katie Hamilton, wife of Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers.

It really was a great weekend! I am rejuvenated and excited to report to “work” this week! I came away with some great tips, good time with friends, more information about our great city and what it has to offer Moms (we will share more later…). I also got confirmation that this Mom thing is serious business and “on the job training” is not the only the only way to prepare for it!

I can’t wait for next year, I know it is going to continue to grow! I hope you will join us! Did any of you go? What were your thoughts? We would love to hear!
