Start Eating Here!

2

Last week, I snapped a pic as I swung through the drive-thru at a new local restaurant. I posted it on our Facebook Page and within minutes, you mamas were chomping at the bit. Well I certainly don’t want to be the one who gets between a hormonal mother and her organic quinoa, so here’s the scoop on Start.

Start Restaurant just opened up on Greenville, right next to Rusty Taco on the corner of University Blvd and Greenville Ave. They are dishing out fresh, homemade, organic food that is both delicious and convenient. You may choose to dine-in or take advantage of the drive-thru and pick up your meal to go.

Their menu offers everything from muffins to stuffed sweet potatoes to ice cream cookie sandwiches. A few of my favorites include the spinach and goat cheese salad, turkey and raspberry chipotle wrap, and the flourless chocolate cake. mmmmm I’m getting hungry just typing this. They also have a pretty decent kids menu, although so much of the regular menu is so good that my kid would probably be happy munching on most of our food. As if all the wonderful food options weren’t enough, they also boast a great selection of drinks, including coffees, teas, smoothies and even beer and wine.

It should come to no surprise that a mom was the one who thought all of this up. Local Dallas mom Erin Mckool (what a fitting name, seiously!) along with her husband created Start out of her desire to start a restaurant/bakery/coffee shop that dishes out real, from-scratch food. Their hope is to “Start” a revolution in the fast-food industry and inspire our community to eat well, even when in a hurry. This is definitely something I would love to see more of and am happy to support.

The one thing that could make Start even better for us moms would be an indoor play area. Oh well, we can’t have it all, ladies…
