There’s something so charming about bringing your kids to the pumpkin patch every year and helping them pick out the “best” one. If you’re in a hurry you can get a Trader Joe’s pumpkin cheap and easy, but we wanted to give you a list of proper patches in case you’re looking for a little more pumpkin picking fun. Our round up below includes everything from smaller church pumpkin lots to massive farms with corn mazes, hayrides, and more. Dallas Pumpkin Patch 2017

Arapaho United Methodist Church

Location :: 1400 West Arapaho Rd., Richardson  75080

Open :: September 30 – October 31, 2017; 10am-7pm, daily

Cost :: Free (except pumpkin purchases)

This little pumpkin patch has become a local favorite to the Richardson, Plano, and North Dallas areas. As Jenny mentions in THIS past post, if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to grab photos of your child in the pumpkins, this is a GREAT spot.

Blase Family Farm Pumpkin Patch

Location :: 1232 E Fork Dr. Rockwall 75087

Open :: September 30 – October 31, 2017; Monday-Friday: 9am-6pm, Saturday: 10am-6pm, Sunday: 12-6pm

Cost :: $7/person (ages 1 and under are free) – includes petting zoo, hayride, and free hotdog (on weekends) or hayride, petting zoo, and free mini pumpkin (M-F). There’s also a hay maze just the right size for little ones.

Dallas Arboretum

Location :: 8525 Garland Rd., Dallas 75218

Open :: September 23 – November 22, 2017; 9am-5pm, daily

Cost ::  $15/adults, $10/children (3-12), 2 & under are free (Parking: $8 advanced, $15 at the door)

“Autumn at the Arboretum” has a Wonderful World of Oz theme this year. Not to be missed is the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village, with over 75,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash to pose and play in. Pumpkins are also available for purchase in the Tom Thumb Pumpkin Patch. Elves Farm

Location :: 601 Harvey Ln., Denison 75020

Open :: September 30 – October 31, 2017; weekends only! Saturday: 10am-5pm, Sunday: 1pm-5pm

Cost :: $8/person – includes all activities and 1 pumpkin from the patch or $3/person if you don’t want a pumpkin

Although most known for their Christmas trees, this farm shouldn’t be overlooked at Halloween, with over 80,000 pounds of pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn and specialty pumpkins brought in every year. The pumpkin patch activities include hayrides, maze, farm zoo, hay jump, and dress your own scarecrow stations. They also do pumpkin sling shots for an additional charge; talk about something the kids will love.

Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch (Double Oak Ranch)

Location :: 5100 Cross Timbers Rd, Flower Mound 75028

Open :: October 1 – 31, 2017; 9am-7pm, daily

Cost :: FREE (parking is $5/M-F and $10/weekends)

This Pumpkin Patch west of Dallas has it all. Kids will love tromping through the hay maze, bouncing in the inflatable bounce houses, and taking trips around the farm on hayrides and pumpkin patch trains. You can also bring a picnic or purchase food and baked goods from vendors on the weekends. In addition to selling pumpkins of all sizes (starting as low as $2), this pumpkin patch also sells gourds, squash, corn husks, and hay bales for you decorative mamas.

Gentle Zoo

Location :: 12600 FM 2932, Forney 75126

Open :: October 1 – 31, 2017; Monday-Friday: 9:30am–2pm, Friday evening (Family Nite Out): 6-10pm, Saturday: 9:30am-5:00 pm, Sunday: 11am-5pm

Cost :: $6/person (ages 1 and under are free)

Come for the pumpkin patch, stay for the fun! General admission to the patch includes a train ride, giant maze, petting zoo, ball pit, and animal room.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze

Location :: 3420 Hall Johnson Rd., Grapevine 76051

Open :: September 29 – October 31, 2016; Monday-Thursday: 3-8pm, Friday: 3-10pm, Saturday: 10am-10pm, Sunday: 1-8pm

Cost :: FREE general admission, $5/person corn maze, $5/person hayrides

This true Texas farm began in the 1920’s and is one of the last working farms in the area. Come see pumpkins on the vine and take advantage of the multiple photo ops set up around the grounds. They also have a legit corn maze, some stalks are 9 ft. tall! If you have older children, grab a flashlight and come try the 2 acre maze after dark. FYI, this place is cash only.

Preston Trail Farms (f.k.a. The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm)

Location :: 15102 TX-289, Gunter 75078

Open :: September 19 – November 22, 2017; 8am-8pm, daily

Cost :: $8/person (M-F) and $10/person (weekends), children under 2 are free. Includes feed for petting barn, hayride, roping pen, hay maze, plus one pie pumpkin (M-F) or a hot dog and farm train ride (weekends).

For anyone who lives further north in the metroplex or doesn’t mind the drive, Preston Trail Farms has all you need for a great pumpkin patch experience. Formerly the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm of Celina, this family farm picked up and moved just a few miles further north to a bigger location. Enjoy hay bales, mazes, and pumpkins for photos (or purchase), plus a farm animal petting zoo!

Pumpkins on the Prairie (Grace Avenue UMC) 

Location :: 3521 Main St., Frisco 75034

Open :: September 3 – October 31, 2017; Monday-Friday: 1-7pm, Saturday & Sunday*: 9am-7pm (*activities beginning after 12pm) 

Cost :: FREE

This is a great pumpkin patch if you’re looking for easy in and easy out. Not only is it free for all activities (hay rides, corn maze, bounce house), but each weekend there’s different family-themed activities planned, from face painting to pumpkin launching.

Royal Lane Baptist Church

Open :: October 1 – 31, 2017; Monday-Friday: 3-8pm, Saturday: 8am-8pm, Sunday: 1-7pm

Shadow Creek Pumpkin Farm

Open :: September 30 – October 31, 2017; Thursday & Friday: 3-9pm, Saturday: 10am-9pm, Sunday: 1-8pm

Cost :: Family entrance fee $5, hayride and corn maze are $5 each. CASH ONLY.

Shadow Creek Farm celebrates their grand opening on September 30th. They’ve got 15 shaded acres of fall farm fun with pumpkins, free games and activities, a petting zoo, chuck wagon full of treats, and lots more. Midlothian sounds far, but it really isn’t!

St. James Episcopal Church

Storybook’s Pumpkin Patch

Location :: Storybook Ranch, 3701 S. Custer, McKinney 75070

Open :: September 24 – November 1, 2017; Sunday-Friday: 10am-sundown, Saturday: 9am-sundown

Cost :: $15/child – includes hay maze, pony rides, petting zoo, bounce houses, wagon ride through 1800’s Western Town and a mini pumpkin, $5/adult – includes petting zoo, 1800’s wagon ride tour & mini pumpkin. Kids under 2 are free.

If you’re looking for a unique pumpkin experience, Storybook Ranch in McKinney has it. Established in 1887 as a working cattle ranch, it has since been refashioned into a historic western town complete with 15 real buildings from the 1840’s-1860’s.

Yesterland Farm

Location :: 15410 Interstate 20, Canton 75103

Open :: September 23 – November 5, 2017; October Fridays: 6-10pm, Saturday: 10am-10pm, Sunday: 12-6pm

Cost :: Pricing varies; $21.95 at the gate but discounts for advanced purchase (ages 2 and under free) – admission ticket includes over a dozen farm attractions (hello, Candy Cannon) plus unlimited amusement park rides.

You will want the whole day to explore this pumpkin patch out East. Rock climbing walls, forts, pony rides, amusement rides, face paintings, and movies all in addition to your fall pumpkin patches, a petting zoo, photo props, and corn mazes.   1. There is a big pumpkin patch in Melissa Texas starting the 30th. It is free admission and free parking. It is at Lola’s Local Market. She has a huge variety of pumpkins and different activities each weekend!! It is a must!! She has a FB page so check it out!

We are known as Team Family Farms and have been getting great reviews. We have built a fun, family-friendly get away with lots to do and see. Our family has been in children’s entertainment for over 20 years and the Pumpkin Patch really shows it. Come out and meet Cowboy Tex, feed the farm animals, ride the barrel train, play games, and more. Lots of great photo spots for you as well! Can’t wait to meet all of you and build some new friendships!
