One of the great things about living in Dallas is the variety of activities we have right here in town. There is so much to see and do, from the Dallas World Aquarium, to the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo, to the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
My toddler is just now old enough to start really experiencing all that Dallas has to offer, and one of the places at the top of our list to visit was the SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium.
SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium is located in the Grapevine Mills Mall, directly across from LEGOLAND Discovery Center. They have 30 beautiful aquarium displays featuring more than 5,000 sea creatures.
From the moment we walked in, we got to see a variety of fish and marine animals in beautiful displays. My son especially loved the circular aquarium with a continuously-swimming school of fish when you first enter. We had the hardest time pulling him away from the brightly-colored tank.
Many of the aquariums were right at toddler height, we let him run around and explore on his own. This was so great because he got to see the displays he was drawn to, and we got a break from carrying around a fussy toddler!
The 360° Underwater Ocean Tunnel was really, really cool. It was so neat to see fish, sharks and other marine animals swimming overhead. There is even a Shark Walk where you can look down and see sharks swimming in the tanks below.
The very last room offered a chance for children to see and touch fun creatures like hermit crabs and starfish. There is also a play area, which was so great. He got the chance to get out all his energy and we got the chance to sit down and rest.
We really enjoyed our visit to SEA LIFE and we can’t wait to go back!
