Get ready for some serious Halloween sweets and treats with our round up of trick-or-treating events in Dallas! These are all kid-friendly affairs where everyone is encouraged to show up in costume. What are you going to be for Halloween?
Halloween at the Heard
Location :: Heard Natural Science Museum, McKinney, TX
Date :: October 21, 2017; 6-10pm
Cost :: $15/adults, $10/children 3-12, 2 & under are free. Pre-sale for members, general public tickets available while supplies last starting 10/2
Halloween at the Heard lets you experience the joys of trick-or-treating along the eerie Dinosaurs Live! life-size animatronic dinosaurs trail. You’ll get an evening full of fun activities including a “Ghost Town,” costume contests, and a family-friendly movie in the outdoor amphitheater stage. Howl-O-Ween

Boo on Ballard
Location :: Historic Downtown Wylie

Go booth to booth picking up lots of candy and goodies from local vendors. Olde City Park (also on Ballard) will have a bungee trampoline, foam cannon, zip line, and DJ as part of Glow in the Park, put on by Wylie Parks & Rec.

Trick or Treat at the Farm
Location :: Heritage Farmstead Museum, 1900 W. 15th Street, Plano, TX 75075
Date :: October 27, 2017; 10am-12pm
Cost :: $7 for children 1+ if you pre-register online, $3 for adults , $8 per child if you purchase tickets at the door
This is a great one for when you’ve got kids that are just too little to understand the whole door-to-door aspect of Halloween. Activities include trick or treating, chicken feeding, tractor rides, a craft, and so much more! Wear your costumes! Open to ages 1-9.

Spooktacular Halloween Sleepover
Location :: Perot Museum
Date :: October 27, 2017; 6:30pm-8am
Cost :: $50/child, $40/adult chaperone, one 21+ chaperone is required for every four guests FYI
This isn’t trick-or-treating, per say, but there’s definitely candy involved. Designed for ages 6-14, this is a spooktacular night of exciting science (exploding pumpkins, anyone?), hair-raising crafts and interactive demos, topped off with a family-friendly Halloween film. Bring a sleeping bag and wear your costume! These Perot sleepovers always sell out, so get on it early if you’re interested.

Brick-or-Treat

Bring your little monsters to LEGOLAND® Discovery Center and get into the Halloween spirit with Brick-Or-Treat. Don your favorite costume and get ready for some spooky fun with family-friendly activities and costume contests.

3rd Annual Halloween Star Wars Day
Location :: Frontiers of Flight Museum
Date :: October 28, 2017; 10am-2pm
Cost :: FREE for kids 12 & under in costume. $10/ general admission
Come for candy, crafts, and galactic activities, and have your photo taken with tons of Star Wars characters. While this isn’t technically a trick-or-treat situation, it’s still a great Halloween costume party, so we’re adding it to the list. Members can also attend the Jabba the Pizza Hut lunch complete with all sorts of Star Wars-themed foods. Reserve your seats for that. Costume contest at 1:30 – it doesn’t have to be a Star Wars costume, don’t worry!

Family Fun at the Arboretum
Location :: Dallas Arboretum

October at the Arboretum isn’t just about Pumpkin Village. They also do a family Halloween party with trick-or-treating, face painting, a petting zoo, and a magician in the Pecan Grove. Wear your costume and don’t forget your trick-or-treat bag!

Scare on the Square
Location :: Historic Downtown McKinney

McKinney’s annual Scare on the Square has grown to hundreds of trick-or-treaters enjoying hayrides, treats, and a safe, secure, family-fun Halloween event. Historic Downtown is closed off for trick-or-treaters to cross the street safely and go shop-to-shop for goodies.
