2018 Dallas Spring Break Camps {For Last Minute Mamas!}

Does spring break always throw a wrench in your schedule? Do you have a plan for stir crazy kids with too much time on their hands? Lucky for you, there are all sorts of spring break camps going on around Dallas the week of March 12-16, 2018. If you’re looking to get your kids out of the house, check out our roundup below! P.S. Some of these are week-long, some are by the day, so be sure to look closely at the details when you register. 

Dallas Spring Break Camps 2018


WHAT: Coding Camp at UTD (UT Dallas campus) 

Week-long coding and engineering camps for grades K-12. Animation, apps, games, circuits, and more. Unless otherwise specified, a Windows laptop is required for each coding camp. If you can’t bring one, a loaner laptop can be reserved by paying $10 during the registration only. WHEN: March 12-16, 2018; 9am-4pm (full day), 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm (half day); early and late drop-off available for additional fee

WHAT: STEM Camp & Makerspace Mania Camp (Sci-Tech Discovery Center, Frisco)

STEM Camp is for kids in grades 1-4 to engineer devices big and small that come to life with physics and electricity. Makerspace Mania is for grades 5-8 to get a little taste of everything, with engineering kits, wooden workshop builds and circuitry classes. Each day has a different focus; register for as few or as many days as you like.

WHAT: Design Camp (Techie Factory, Dallas)

Choose one track, or try them all: 3D Printing, Graphic Design, Stop-motion Animation, Sewable/Wearable technology, making with textiles, and more. Come with your own ideas, or use our daily brainstorm session to inspire the things you’ll make and do at camp. Camp is best for kids ages 7 and up who have either no experience, or those who have some exposure to design software and/or concepts.

WHEN: March 12-16, 2018; 9am-2pm

COST: $500 for the week

WHAT: Wild Adventures Spring Break Camps (Dallas Zoo)

These are single-day camps with a different theme each day. Explore the zoo, animals, and habitats through the lens of science – anatomy, geology, biology, the mathematics of feeding 2,000+ animals, and more. Kids are divided into grade-level appropriate classes: PreK (ages 3-5), K-1, 2-3, and 4- 5. See link for the camp topics for each day.

WHEN: March 12-16, 2018; 9am-4pm. BeforeCamp runs from 8-9am at $5/child per day. AfterCamp runs from 4-6pm at $10/child per day.

COST: $45/member, $50/non-member per day

WHAT: Cooking Camp (My French Kitchen, Plano)

Make and sample meals from appetizer to dessert each day at camp Bon Appetit or choose Camp Petite Pâtisserie to learn all the French pastry basics, from macaron to meringue and lemon tart.

WHEN: 9am-12pm (Bon Appetit) or 1:30-4:30pm (Petite Pâtisserie)

COST: $249 per week or $60 per day

WHAT: NTPA Plano Children’s Theater Camp (Willow Bend, Plano)

NTPA offers morning, afternoon, and full-day camps for K-5th grade. Each day, students will actively bring a different story to life through visual and performing arts. Visual arts activities include painting, pottery, mixed media, cartooning, sculpture, drawing, collage, and printing. Performing arts activities include story dramatization, improvisation, theatre games, and more. See the link for more details.

WHEN: March 12-16, 2018; 9am-5pm (full day), 9am-12pm or 1pm-5pm (half day)

COST: $150 half day AM session, $187 half day PM session, $300 full day

WHAT: Art Camp (Quiggly’s Clayhouse, Richardson)

This one is for kids ages 5 and up. Projects will vary from spinning on the wheel, paint pottery, clay, canvas and glass fusion. Register for as few or as many days as you like.

COST: $40 per day or $150 for 4 days

WHAT: Creativity Camp (SPARK!, Dallas)

Visual arts, sculpture, silk screening and many other disciplines to spark your child’s imagination, all in a wildly creative environment. Plus you get unlimited play on the Climb, Crawl, Slide Sculpture. For kids ages 7–10 and 11–14.

WHEN: March 12-16, 2018; 9am-4pm, before and after care available for additional fee

COST: $250 per week or $50 per day

WHAT: 3-Day Fitness Camps (Cooper Aerobics Center, Dallas)

Couple of different camps here – a regular fitness day camp of sports, games, and activities, or a basketball camp that concentrates on passing, dribbling, shooting and position development in scrimmage situations. Both camps are 3 days long. Choose from kids camp for ages 5-7 or youth camp for ages 8-13.

WHEN: Fitness Day Camp is  March 13-15; 1-5pm

Basketball Camp is March 12-14; 9-10:30am (ages 5-7) and 10:30am-1pm (ages 8-13)

COST: Fitness Day Camp is $150; Basketball Camp is $100 (ages 5-7) or $145 (ages 8-13)

WHAT: FC Dallas Soccer Camps (Toyota Stadium, Frisco)

Kids of all ages and skill levels can develop technical skills the FC Dallas way, under the instruction of FC Dallas coaches. Check the link for more deets, like the bonus Adidas soccer ball and training shirt. Three different camps/levels to choose from for ages 6 through 16.

WHAT: Texas Rangers Spring Break Camp (Texas Rangers Youth Ballpark on the north side of Globe Life Park in Arlington)

For players ages 7-12 who want to improve their skills and mechanics mid-season. Returning players will continue to sharpen their skills while players new to the game will be able to learn the basics and fundamentals in a positive and encouraging setting. WHAT: Hoop Camp (Mavs Practice Facility, Dallas)

Kids of all skill levels, ages 7-18 can learn the fundamentals of the game, communication with other teammates and coaches, plus sportsmanship and responsibility.

WHAT: Ancient Warriors Camp (Pro Martial Arts, Lakewood area)

Learn the ancient ways of the samurai, ninja balancing drills, obstacle courses, foam sword training, and more. For ages 3-13.

WHEN: March 12-16, 2018, 8:45am-3:15pm (full day), 8:45-11:45am or 12:15-3:15pm (half day)

COST: $299 full day/all week, $199 half day/all week or purchase by the day $70 for full days and $50 for half days

WHAT: Girls Gymnastics & Swimming Camp (Jewish Community Center, Dallas)

For girls grades K through 6 – gymnastics, swimming, games, crafts, and fun with friends! Gymnastics portion includes instruction on each apparatus while also participating in fitness-oriented challenges and team-building. For the beginning gymnast through advanced/competitive levels.

WHEN: March 12-16, 2018; 9am-4pm, extended care available from 7:30-9am and 4-6pm

COST: $250 member/$315 non-member per week; $60 member/$75 non-member per day; $35 member/$50 non-member per half day
