0

Who’s excited for New Year’s Eve celebrations?! Maybe not the mom reading this post unless you have a baby sitter lined up so you can have much-needed adult time! If you are that cool mom, props to you!

Do you remember your last year as a non-parent and how you spent NYE? Now, do you recall your first year as a parent and how you spent NYE? I bet they look a bit different!

I’ll be honest, there’s no hype at our house for NYE, but I do want to try a few things this NYE with my toddlers since they’re more aware of holidays and what we are celebrating. First, I wanted to share with you this blog post: A Kid Friendly New Years Party everything from surprise capsules to crafts that you can check out in case you’re looking for a one-stop shop for kid ideas!

Now, I have a confession to make –  I will be drinking with my girls on NYE – juice drinking that is! I’m exciting to share with you fun-themed, EASY, kid-friendly drinks!

I was getting a bit overwhelmed with the complexity of kid mocktail ideas on Pinterest that used over 10+ ingredients – so I brewed up some crafty easy-to-make drinks that any momma can follow.

Before we get started, I wanted to share this FREE label download I created special for you to use! So, when you see the word “label” below, you’ll know what I’m talking about. If you have recycled glitter cardstock you can add them to the label if you’d like.

The fun, colorful cups I use for this project I purchased from Target because they were a great size for my toddlers and were on sale for about fifty cents each. The Pillowfort™ cups also come in a variety pack.

Okay, let’s start with the creative concoctions…

kid-friendly drinksRainbow Unicorn – my girls are obsessed with unicorns and with good reason if you like all things magical, colorful and majestic.

What you’ll need: cup, unicorn label, apple juice, gummies, colorful sprinkles.

TIP: To make the gummy stick on the rim of the cup make a thin slit on the gummy with a knife for easy placement. To get the sprinkles to stick I dabbed a bit of honey in random places on the rim.

kid-friendly drinksMilk & Cookies – Let’s be honest, this is a classic treat for anyone! Add the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie book to the mix for extra brownie points.

What you’ll need: cup, milk & cookies label, Oreo minis, milk

Tip: I separated the Oreo mini sandwich and then put them back together on the rim. The middle frosting doubled as a great adhesive to keep put on the rim of the cup.

kid-friendly drinksPoppin’ Planets – I think we can all agree learning about the planets and the stars can be so much fun! This drink adds a cool element – cocktail or should I say mocktail science with carbonation! Pour the ginger ale and show them how the shooting stars are attempting to attack their planets.

What you’ll need: cup, ginger ale, planets label, candy peach rings. Make sure to add the thin slit om the gummy rings with a knife so they can fit on the rim of the cup.

kid-friendly drinksDinosaurs – dinosaurs are one of the coolest animals for my 4-year old right now. She is intrigued by their size, colors, and the sharpness of their ginormous teeth!

What you’ll need: cup, dino label, pineapple juice, a splash of ginger ale, gummy worms. I added the thin slit to these worms to keep them on the rim of the cup.

kid-friendly drinksFruity – This one’s for my no-thank-you-to-candy mom! This fruity experience will give them a fun “healthy” sweet treat.

What you’ll need: cup, fruit label, apple juice, variety of fruits to garnish cup

Pro-Mom Tip – if you’re looking for spill-proof alternatives – I’ve got you covered.  I recommend the Silikids Silicone Straw & Top because they are easy to clean and fit on almost any cup! You could always make the drink for your child, get a cool photo in and have them drop the goodies in their drink so you can spill-proof it if you need to.

Enjoy and sip sip hooray to 2019!
