Lauren and I must have the bug for going on date nights with our hubbies since we keep writing about them….maybe it’s the start of school or something. However, there is a new pizza place in town and after trying it I knew I wanted to review it for you. Dough just opened a few weeks ago and it’s located on the NW corner of Preston and Forest (formerly the location of Chocolate Angel.) I will say, first of all, that it’s definitely worth a try. It’s is a wood-fire pizza joint based out of San Antonio. Dough’s pizza is thin crust, Napoletano-style (from Naples, Italy.) I had heard about this place before it even opened up so I was in anticipation. Gabe and I recently tried it (we actually took Halle so it was a family date night- which are fun too, right?) and we both loved the pizza.

Probably because it is so new, but the wait staff is very attentive. The prices are reasonable and the food came out quickly, even though it was pretty busy. The one downside is that it is kind of noisy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to remedy this soon though. Even though it’s in a strip mall, and from the outside it doesn’t look like much, the inside is pretty nice. We ended up splitting a margarita pizza- which was very yummy- and also got the Nutella dessert to go. I would actually recommend skipping the dessert at Dough and walking across the parking lot to Paciugo for some gelato (Italian ice cream- sensing a theme?)

Do you have a favorite pizza place to share? While we liked Dough, our regular go-to place is Pizza By Marco– which is my favorite!
