(Dec. 3, 2015) – Tickets are now on sale for Day 1 Dallas, a new and exciting, kid-focused, family fair event coming to Fair Park Jan. 1, 2016. Day 1 Dallas, presented by Subway, is the North Texas region’s first New Year’s Day family fair.

This communitywide event promises to be a longstanding New Year’s Day tradition for the North Texas region, and has the support of prominent community leaders, including: Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, his wife Micki, and members of the Dallas City Council. In addition, football legends Roger Staubach and Tim Brown, their wives Marianne and Sherice; Celebrity Chef/Restaurant Owner Richard Chamberlain; Kimberly-Clark Chairman and CEO Tom Falk, his wife Karen; and former North Texas Volunteer of the Year Adan Gonzalez are actively supporting the event.

Spread across the historic Fair Park indoor grounds, the day-long, kid-friendly celebration features more than 60 different activities and exhibit areas dedicated to 10 of the most popular New Year’s Day resolutions, all designed with kids in mind. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will be capped off by a spectacular fireworks presentation in the evening.

Day 1 Dallas also includes concerts by nationally known entertainers at the Fair Park Music Hall. Performances include 2014 Kids’ Choice Award nominee and star of the hit TV show, Jessie, Debby Ryan and the Never Ending; singer-songwriter Cody Lovaas; and Collins Key, known as “Magic’s First Pop Star” and a finalist on America’s Got Talent.

Tickets are available now on the event website Day 1 Dallas, or may be purchased at the gate. Adult tickets are $10, children 4 and older are $5, and all children under 4 are free with an accompanying adult. In addition, all children 12 and under will get in free (from 10 a.m.-Noon) with a paid adult. Individual concerts are $25, or all three shows can be purchased as a 3-concert package (20 percent savings). Concert tickets include admission to the family fair.

Proceeds benefit the Vogel Alcove child development center, which provides a safe and nurturing environment for homeless children at no cost to their families. For more information, please visit:
