Who doesn’t love a good food court? I mean what’s not to love?! You have multiple solid food choices all within a few feet of one another. In the mood for a slice of pizza, but also really feeling tacos? Bam, food court has you covered! Food courts are especially nice when they’ve recently been transformed by a remodel, and the result is a great place to enjoy a meal or post up to hammer out some work. The new food court at Grapevine Mills features chair cut-outs perfect for holding handbags or baby bags. There’s also ample seating, including high boy seats so you never have to worry about finding a spot to enjoy your meal. Best of all, Grapevine Mills made the genius decision to include power outlets and charging stations for your phones or other devices, so you never have to worry about running out of “juice” while you’re out.

Grapevine Mills really knew what they were doing when they paired a FREE food court challenge event and Spring Break to unveil their brand new food court. Many staycationers were searching for something fun to do, and what’s more fun than food related challenges, free lunch, and a killer swag bag? Again, did I mention that was all FREE?

This event was limited to 100 families, and Grapevine Mills rolled out the red carpet to welcome the families to their new state-of-the-art food court. Everyone was welcomed with their choice of complimentary tickets to either LEGOLAND or Sea Life Aquarium. Next, everyone participated in a game of trivia to win additional tickets and other fun prizes. It was so fun watching the kids get excited about knowing the answer to one of the trivia questions.

After everyone was settled it was time for the real fun to begin! First up, Sbarro hosted a pizza eating contest where many made for some stiff competition. After participants had more pizza than anyone could ever wish for, the members of the Annie’s Pretzels team gave everyone a tutorial on how to make pretzels like a pro. Each person in attendance got their own pretzel dough to mold and twist any way they wanted. Once everyone had the hang of things, a few chosen members of the audience took part in a pretzel twisting competition to see who was top twister. So much fun!

After all that competition everyone had worked up a healthy appetite. Many food court restaurants were standing by ready to provide everyone with a fabulous lunch! A personal favorite was the fresh watermelon juice being served. So refreshing!

After everyone wrapped up lunch, they were sent on their way with swag bags filled with Grapevine Mills coupons, and other swag perfect for daily use! This event was the perfect way to spend a spring break day without breaking the bank! Don’t take our word for it though. You can view all the pictures from the event in the Facebook album here, thanks to the talented AKA Photography

We had so much hosting this event with Grapevine Mills, and highly recommend taking a trip there ASAP to check out all they have to offer for yourself. There’s also still time to have little one’s picture made with the Easter Bunny. Check out their website for a full list of available times.

We can’t wait to get back to Grapevine Mills for another fun filled day with our families. Until then, we’ll be working on perfecting our pretzel twisting technique.
