Imagine a North Texas city that simply offers a healthier, happier place to live and play. That’s exactly what Grapevine Parks & Recreation has in mind for its citizens, and is making that happen by providing the resources to get there. With more programs than any other city its size in North Texas, you have the opportunity to learn, discover, and live life to the fullest!

Whether it’s sprawling parks, organized sports for your kiddos (and yourself), special events or volunteering that interests you, they offer something for everyone. How can you and your family take advantage of all the greatness? We’re going to give you the rundown by listing a few ways you can get active and involved within the Grapevine community. As mothers, most of us are always looking for new activities to enjoy with our families – especially with the spring and summer months approaching. Read on!

Grapevine ParksGo Explore. Warmer temps are right around the corner (fingers crossed), so it’s the perfect time to get out and explore one of Grapevine’s many parks. Let little ones burn off energy at C.J. Hutchings Park playground, which includes an accessible play area. If you’ve got some elusive “me” time, go for a run around Acorn Woods, a sprawling park near the Silver Lake Branch of Grapevine Lake. When summer hits, Dove Park Sprayground & Waterpark is the perfect spot to keep cool and watch your brood splash around.

Go Discover. Have you seen the new REC of Grapevine? If you’ve driven by it, that bright blue slide has likely caught your eye. Over 7,000 square feet of space is dedicated to fitness, swimming, an abundance of classes for both kids and adults, and more. The REC prides itself on a sense of community for both young and old, and offers affordable annual passes.

Grapevine ParksGo Outdoors. Trails are a great way to introduce kids to the outdoors, and Grapevine has no shortage of them! You’ll find easy to intermediate paths, and everything from paved to paddling trails. Walk, run, or even mountain bike your way around! Do you send your kids to summer camps? At Dove Creek Day Camp, they can take part in archery, kayaking, and work on team building skills.

Go Play. If you have kids eager to get on the court or field, then choose from a variety of youth sports with Grapevine Parks & Rec including baseball, softball, basketball or volleyball. Looking for a team to join yourself? Try indoor or sand volleyball, flag football, tennis, and even co-ed kickball.

Go Volunteer. As kids get older, volunteering becomes a great way to spend time together as a family while giving back. Grapevine Parks & Rec offers plenty of options to do so – get your crew together to take part in one of their beautification projects for Keep Grapevine Beautiful, or check out even more opportunities here (including an upcoming egg hunt!).

Did you know there were so many ways to get active and involved in Grapevine? With an abundance of resources and fun opportunities available, now is the perfect time. You can check out even more on the Grapevine Parks & Rec website. How will you and your family Go Grapevine? Let us know!
