Kidville Classes: From Toddlers In Tutus to Science Exploration!

0

We’ve told you about Kidville’s amazing play areas and their award-winning haircuts, but what we’ve been waiting to share with you in more detail is the classes that make Kidville unique!

There’s not another facility in Dallas that offers the wide range of classes that Kidville does. You might find a business that offers movement classes, or go to another that offers art classes, but Kidville provides everything you need for all your kids in one place!

From art, music, physical fitness, and dance, you’ll find a class that best suites each one of your kids’ needs; whether your child is 18 months old and loves to listen to live music or you have a 3 year old who wants to participate in basketball. And for you moms of the girly-girls, what’s better than a dance class like Toddlers in Tutus or Ballet Tea Party for your little princesses?

This Fall, several of our contributors participated in a variety of their classes to sample what Kidville in Dallas has to offer. We could easily write a description and share what each one is about, but we thought you’d appreciate a first-hand account from moms just like you!

Kidville Baby Muscles

Baby Muscle Builders

My son, Tripp participated in the Baby Muscle Builders class and we both had such a great time! He loved the fun activities and the fact that we did not do any one activity too long! His favorites were the trampoline, slide, and bubbles! They have the best bubbles! ~Jennifer

Big Muscle Workout

From the minute we sot down to sing “Hello, how are you?” he is excited! I love how it is structured the same each week, starting with singing then moving to all of the different areas. There is a different focus each week- over/under, up/down, etc and the stations around the room reflected that skill. The trampoline is Jack’s favorite for sure! He loves running down it and falling into the foam pit. I love how the teachers were engaged and always encouraged jack to try something new, yet didn’t force anything he wasn’t ready for. The Big Muscles Class has been such a wonderful thing for Jack and I to do together while big sister is at school! Overall, we are so happy with the big muscles class at Kidville! We look forward to Fridays for sure! ~Sherry

Rockin’ Railroad

Kidville Rockin Railroad

What I like about the class is not only does it introduce my boys to music, instruments, rhythm and movement, but it gives us a chance to play together. No interruptions and no creativity required- just fun together enjoying one thing. My boys also play together in class without squabbling or a room full of toys. We just get to engage with the music! ~Lisa

Rockin’ Railroad at Kidville has been the thrill of my 2 (almost 3) year old’s week.  He wakes up every morning wondering if it is time to go to Rockin’ Railroad.  He loves the songs! I don’t know what it is about them but they are so catchy that everyone in our house (even my other school-age children who have never been to the RR) sing them constantly!  We’ve been really impressed by the staff, especially the “teachers” of the Rockin’ Railroad class and the monitors at the gym.  My little guy has made fast friends with all of them and they are always kind to him, remember his name, and are happy to indulge him whether it’s allowing him to pluck a guitar string or helping him climb something in the gym.  We really can’t say enough good things about our experience at Kidville. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a great way to keep their little entertained and stimulated! ~Heather

Run, Wiggle, Paint & Giggle

Run Wiggle Paint Giggle KidvilleWe love this class because of the variety of activities! Whether we are singing, playing with bumpy bouncy balls, doing a craft, or reading a story, each activity lasts just long enough but not too long and then we move on. There is consistency in the songs throughout the class, even though the activities change, so the children know what to expect. For example, we always sing “Walk, Jump, Run” song and end with the “Tick Tock” song. My daughter started singing those songs outside of class after only a few weeks. ~Jenny

Big Messy Art Class

My 22 month old started out in the Rockin’ Railroad class and LOVED it, but when he broke his leg, we had to quickly switch classes to accomodate his inability to walk. I was so nervous starting in a new class. Would he like it as much? Would he be entertained? Would he still want to be there? Yes, Yes, and Yes! Using a variety of sensory tools, the Big Messy Art class is exactly that; Big, Messy, and full of fun art time! For a mom who’s not a fan of mess, I’m surprising okay him getting slightly dirty for the 45 minutes of fun he has each week! ~Krystal

Krystal is a Dallas-native who began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Richardson RISD, but quickly changed paths to became a stay-at-home mom in 2011. Through a happy coincidence, she stumbled upon (what was then known as) Dallas Moms Blog in 2012 and found a community she’d been looking for since coming a mom. Shortly after joining the team, she gratefully accepted the “baton” passed to her as new owner of the site, and took off with it running full speed! Krystal not only helped to grow Dallas Moms into a large parenting resource, but also launched Collin County Moms in 2016; providing those in the north Dallas suburbs their community resource platform. While building a community, uniting the moms, and growing a business around this passion was a dream come true, after almost 10 years, Krystal officially stepped down as owner, and is now focusing on raising her 4 boys with her husband, Tim, and rediscovering old hobbies.
