Lakehill Preparatory School :: A Place Where Every Child Can Thrive

Lakehill prepKindergarten at Lakehill is a special time. It is a big and exciting time in a child’s life anywhere, but at Lakehill, it is extra special. The moment you walk through the doors, after stopping to shake the Headmaster’s hand, of course, (yes, he is there to greet each child by name every morning. See? Special!), you know you are walking into not just another school building, but an environment that will nurture as much as it educates. The space itself is beautiful, while still being warm and easy for children to navigate. A school’s spaces are nothing without amazing people to fill them, and that is where Lakehill really shines.

Lakehill teachers are absolute gems, and we have been beyond blessed with our children’s classroom experiences. I have always felt welcome to visit with their teachers, not only about academics, but about their social development as well. I have loved getting to know these teachers as the amazing men and women they are, inside and outside the classroom. I remember one specific conversation early on that afterward made me realize that these people wanted much more than to teach my children to pass tests or memorize math facts. They were totally invested in my children’s success. As a mom, I love that they love my children, seek out the best in them, and work hard every day to help them succeed.

We have been at Lakehill for four years now. Our son is an active third grader and our daughter is in her kindergarten year. Our son is a complete extrovert. He loves people, sports, and cannot stand being bored. Lakehill is the perfect place for him. Our daughter is more reserved; academics and art are her interests. Guess what? Lakehill is the perfect place for her, too. Our son can participate in the many of the activities Lakehill offers. Our daughter can find comfort in the small classes. It is amazing to watch both my children find their niche and thrive. Isn’t that what we all want for our children?
