From the time our children were born, there was a constant dialogue in our household discussing where they would attend school. Over the years, we had the same conversation repeatedly. We were happy to find a preschool that was a perfect fit…but alas, there was an expiration date, and we knew making a decision for the next stage was rapidly approaching.

Lakehill Preparatory SchoolNaturally, we scheduled a plethora of school tours. Each was impressive, but not one of them felt “just right.” That is, until we visited Lakehill Preparatory School. We were greeted by the Headmaster, Roger Perry, who gave us an overview of the school. Each family was paired with two high school students who would be our guides for the tour of the campus. We were struck by how composed, confident, and socially engaged they were, sharing their first-hand experiences along the way. It was evident that Lakehill students take great pride in their school, and that they have a tremendous love of learning. I remember turning to my husband and declaring, “Wow! If our children turn out half as well as those two, our work here is done.” It was clear to us that Lakehill develops confident, well-rounded children.

At the time, I thought we were on a mission for the elementary years. I have come to realize what an amazing opportunity it will be to have our children attend the same school for 12 years in such a safe and supportive community. Lakehill is a place where our children are known as individuals, and where teachers identify their strengths, abilities, and special interests, encouraging them to realize their full potential. Each of my children has only 12 students in their classroom, allowing for personal attention. At Lakehill, they can explore all of their interests through clubs, community service, athletics, art, and drama, just to name a few. This small school environment offers all of the opportunities of a larger school.

At Lakehill, students really can do it all.

Our children have developed a love of learning and are excited to go to school every day. Throughout the school year, they play soccer, basketball, and baseball, and are involved in after-school activities such as computer club, art class, gardening club, and Community Connections.

After three years at Lakehill, I can honestly say, it still feels “just right.”
