Let the Doctor Come to You with Mend; a Children’s Health Affiliate

This post has been sponsored by Mend; a favorite service of Dallas Moms Blog for busy families.

It was just a couple of days after Christmas.  Half of the ornaments were off the tree, new toys were scattered throughout the house, and dishes were still piled up waiting for their turn to be washed.  We were busy, tired, and also sneezing.

My two year old daughter’s nose was pouring, she wasn’t eating or sleeping well, and she was quite the grumpy one. Was it post-holiday blues or was she seriously sick? Do I stop what I’m doing, make an appointment, drive, pay for parking, wait for an hour then to find out she has a virus and we just have to wait it out? Or do I skip the doctor and risk not treating what could very well be an ear infection?

MendHealthcare011That’s when a friend recommended Mend, a convenient, affordable, and on-demand urgent healthcare that comes to your home, office, or hotel.  They serve patients ages 1 to 64 and specialize in the treatment of common illnesses and injuries which require prompt attention but aren’t serious enough for the emergency room. This is exactly what I needed!

Although there is a Mend app, I’m old school and just went to the website. I logged in, saw a doctor was available to come to my house early afternoon, booked it and continued with my Christmas clean-up.  A doctor called me to confirm the visit and asked about my daughter’s symptoms.

A couple of hours later, the doctor arrived (early).  He was kind, thorough, and did everything the pediatrician would have done in the office. He didn’t even flinch when my kids (both in new bathrobes) got into a knock down, drag out wrestling match.

So how much does this cost? The first visit is $50 and subsequent visits are $199. And for a busy mom with crazy (and possibly sick) kids, this was perfect. Physicians are available between 8am-8pm weekdays or weekends. Mend accepts credit cards, Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account cards!

_MG_0639The next time you’re debating whether or not to take your little one in, don’t…instead let the doctor come to you.

And with a trusted name like Children’s Health now partnering with Mend, you know they’re a service you can trust! The Children’s Health affiliation has allowed Mend to expand its scope of services and reach throughout the state of Texas, as well as to other markets. In addition to its current Dallas base, Mend has just opened up services in Frisco and McKinney & Southlake and Flower Mound bases will be coming in January. Other cities around Texas are planned for later in 2016.

Disclosure: Sally’s received her first visit free but all of her opinions are honest. She loved the service she received and would recommend to others.
