New Food Finds at the State Fair of Texas

0

After months of telling your kids to eat their veggies, there’s an occasion to throw caution to the wind and let them enjoy a “sometimes treat” of deep fried delicacies that are only available once a year at historic Fair Park  from Sept. 29 to Oct. 22.

It’s the State Fair of Texas.

That’s when it’s time to put down the peas and carrots and pick up an order of Deep Fried Chicken Noodle Soup on a Stick, or maybe Deep Fried Froot Loops®.

Deep Fried Froot Loops® is a classic cereal with a State Fair twist! Sweetened Froot Loops® are folded into whipped marshmallow, dipped in a creamy batter, fried to a golden brown, and then topped with a drizzle of glaze and powdered sugar. Breakfast cereal just got better!

Kids of all ages love Fair food and the Fair’s concessionaires are constantly cooking up new treats and creative sweets to serve each year.

Your family will not only have a chance to taste the finalists of the 2017 Big Tex Choice Awards, but some of the competition’s semi-finalist dishes will also be sold during the 2017 Fair. Each year, semi-finalists who do not make it to the ceremony round have the option to add their new creations to their menu that year.

The list does not stop there! As an added bonus to your kids’ Fair-food checklist, additional new foods will be available at concession stands across the grounds.

See below for the menu of new food items that can be found at this year’s State Fair of Texas. For the full list of this year’s new foods and their locations, visit here.

Enjoy your Fair food favorites while Big Tex is in town Sept. 29-Oct 22.  Your kids can always go back to brussel sprouts on Oct. 23.
