On the quiet Main Street in Downtown Garland, there’s a little shop hidden in a small shopping center called “Paint Me Away.”
This quaint little studio is owned and operated by artist Linda Nealeigh. It was less than a decade ago that Linda discovered she had a talent that she decided to take to a professional level.
What started as a passion for colors and cultures, Linda began to paint! In her studio, you’ll find beautiful paintings hung on the wall inspired by her time in South Africa and Brazil. Bright and bold colors painted on canvas and objects like clocks and wine boxes.
While she continues to paint wall murals and canvas pieces (oil and acrylic) for clients, auctions, contests and art shows, she’s also recently added on to studio services by hosting painting parties! When Linda asked my church group to come in and give it a try, we all jumped on the opportunity for a fun Moms Night Out that didn’t involve a lot of planning!
We all gathered in her studio bringing homemade snacks, sweets, soft drinks, and wine, and spent the next 2 hours chatting away while Linda took us step by step through a painting we had arranged beforehand.
Unlike a few other painting parties I’ve attended in the past, I felt completely comfortable during the class. Linda was chatting with us and encouraged us to be creative. When we struggled with an art technique, she stepped in to help as much or as little as we wanted. She really took the time to get to know our group and talk to us individually.
None of us are amazing artists–as a matter of fact, many of us aren’t crafty at all, but through Linda’s demonstrations, we all managed to produce quality pieces of art! (Mine might even now hang on my wall!)

For as little as $35 per person, Paint Me Away can host your group for a for a private party (up to 15 people). Parties usually last around 2 hours and can take place during the daytime or in the evenings. She will provide bottled water for the group, and you’re encouraged to bring snacks and beverages of your choice!
