That’s a Wrap! DMB’s 2016 Dallas Summer Playdate Series

Dallas Moms Blog partnered with the businesses below to bring our readers opportunities to help them escape the heat. All opinions are 100% our own!

Summer means lazy days, no schedule, and no rushing to get out the door for school each morning. If your family is anything like mine, this is a welcome change of pace for approximately two weeks. After that everyone is bored, ready to be out of the house, and sick of starring at one another.

We know lots of moms in the Dallas metroplex are in the same boat, so it’s for this reason Dallas Moms Blog decided to host our second annual, Summer Playdate Tour!

Playspace_Tour_5-31-16_SliderFor the second year in a row, we chose 5 playscape venues around DFW to host our readers and their kiddos for a playdate complete with snacks and goodies.

Our first stop was Play Street Museum in McKinney. This oh so cute venue is the perfect play date location for kiddos ages 0-5. Each location has a specific theme, and coordinating playscape. The McKinney location’s theme is “The Farm.” There’s even a barn complete with a life-size cow you can actually milk (don’t worry, no milk actually comes out). The kids had a blast and were definitely ready for a snack at the end of the playdate. Thanks to Chick-fil-A in McKinney for providing everyone with their famous nuggets to recharge before heading home!

IMG_4277-2Second on our list was Gymboree Play & Music of Dallas. Gymboree is the perfect place to take your little ones ages 0-5 to work off some of that never ending energy. Gymboree hosted a family style class that was perfect for a wide range of children. We love the way Gymboree makes fine tuning motor skills so enjoyable with games and songs everyone enjoys. Also, thanks to the Preston and Forest location of Corner Bakery for providing refreshing lemonade and fresh baked cookies for this playdate. I think I even saw some adults partaking in snack time. Yum!

FullSizeRender-3We also made a stop at The GeO-Deck at Reunion Tower. They have a great summer program full of kid and family friendly events (as well as other events all year round). Check out a full schedule of events here.

Next on the list was The Butterfly Garden at Texas Discovery Gardens. The children enjoyed a full morning of story time, a coordinating craft, and the butterfly garden. If you’re ever looking for something  unique to do with your kids, I highly recommend the butterfly release at Texas Discovery Gardens. This is a venue both children and adults can really enjoy together. Also, a huge thanks to Happy Family for providing snacks the kids enjoyed and parents could feel good about offering!

By the time August rolled around we were ready for a cool down. Monster Yogurt in Richardson was a the perfect spot for this playdate. They are known to have the best froyo in town and even have a playscape for kids to burn off some energy before heading home.

We ended our tour in West Plano with our friends at Gymboree Play & Music of Plano. Much like the Dallas playdate, their family style class is the perfect fit for all age groups. Gymboree offers a wide range of parent/child classes, and are the perfect way to spend one on one time with your child while encouraging learning.Lilly and Bella
