The BMW Dallas Marathon returns to the heart of the city December 7th-9th with new race options for the ENTIRE family! This is a perfect opportunity to introduce your child to the fun and enjoyment of running a race has to offer.

Kids ages 12 and under are welcome to participate on Saturday, December 8th in any one of the shorter distance options: 100m, 400m, 800m or 1-mile. And for only $10, you and your child will have access to one of the four events. You can sign up here, or visit the BMW Dallas Marathon website for more information on the race weekend.

Talk about a great way for you and your family to get together and stay active! Running with your children is a great way for them to experience setting and accomplishing a simple goal. Kids will love getting to run downtown through some of Dallas’s most vibrant neighborhoods and iconic landmarks. And the Health and Fitness Expo will be fun to attend as well!

Since 1997, proceeds from the marathon have supported the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and to-date has donated nearly $4 million. Together, they are helping provide the best of care and providing hope for pediatric patients.

And if you are looking to run without the kiddos, the 5K, 10K, half and full marathon are still open for registration. These courses offer prime views of Dallas and highlight some of the best areas of the city.

Our very own Dallas Moms Blog contributor has some tips for training from one mom on the run to another and why moms should take time to focus on their own health.  Training for the BMW Dallas Marathon is the perfect way to make that a priority this year!

You have just over a month to register for these events before prices increase December 1st. So don’t wait! Let’s “Run Big, Run Dallas!”
