Meal Planner - Megan Harney for Dallas Moms BlogMeal Planning can seem overwhelming, but it ultimately makes life at home so much easier. By spending a few minutes at the beginning of each week or each month making a plan, I save so much time (and so much money) by skipping the ‘What are we going to eat tonight?’ question throughout the week. Especially when we just wind up going to Chick-fil-A…again.

To make meal planning easier, I created this free printable meal planner. I know I can’t be the only one who struggles with this, so I thought it might be helpful for other moms as well!

To use this meal planner, I start by filling in several meals that we make all the time. Standard meals like grilled chicken, tacos, and pulled pork tend to make it into our meal plan most weeks. Then I search Pinterest or my favorite sites (like The Pioneer Woman, Betty Crocker, and Six Sisters Stuff) to add in a couple of new recipes. I don’t fill the whole menu with new recipes because I would get overwhelmed half-way through the week and just go out to eat!

I also like to leave a fresh page on the fridge the week prior so that I can easily add things to the list throughout the week.

That’s it! I can easily reference the list while I shop for groceries and when I get home to make meals during the week.  This keeps me on task all week long.

Do you like to meal plan? What tools have you found to make planning meals easier for your family?
